Cory Cooley

For those who don’t know me, my name is Cory Cooley. I am 16 and the youngest member of the AZ-D. I have loved the DMC ever since I saw Back to the Future. My first real DeLorean experience was when I was about 5 or 6. I was living in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the time and my mother, sister and myself were returning from running errands when I saw parked in a parking lot, a DeLorean. The owner was selling it, but it was very cool. Ever since then I have been a fan and have always been looking for a club or some sort of organization.
I lived in ABQ for 12 years, and then moved over here to Chandler. I‘ve been here for about 3 years. When I had moved I realized that I was missing something and decided to continue my search for a DMC club. Though it wasn’t till one day when my mom and I went to go get groceries that I saw another DeLorean at the intersection of Dobson and Ray. That night I started looking and came across the AZ-D. I was excited and couldn’t wait to go to the meeting. About a week earlier my family and I went down to Casa Grande, where the Casa Grande Car show was happening. As we entered into the mini mall down there another DeLorean drove by. I soon discovered that both DeLoreans I saw before becoming a member belonged to a couple of good friends.
I have been a member for about a year and a half; during that time I have hosted an event with the Pantera Club, detailed, kept, driven, fired up, rode in, pushed, pulled, been run over by, showed off in, stripped and been seen in too which is very cool. I have also set up a small detailing business. The only DeLorean I do own is the 1/18th scale Sunstar die cast VIN 12870, which I have been working on for the past couple of months to get ready for DCS 2006. About a couple months ago, my father and I set course to Tennessee for DCS 2004 and also because my father had his job there. While up in Pigeon Forge I was in DeLorean heaven, over 118 cars and about 500 people, it was great. While there I entered into the best Sunstar modified division however I was beaten but I promised that I would win in DCS 2006. So now you know a little about me, and what my life has been like.
